“오늘날과 같이 기술간제품간 융합이 활발히 이루어지고, 소비자들의 신제품에 대한 수요가 다양해지는 환경에서, 신기술 혹은 신제품의 성패는 기술적인 요인에 의해서 결정되어 진다기보다는 시장에서의 성공에 좌우된다고 할 수 있다. 따라서, 신기술 및 신제품에 대한 수요분석 및 예측은 기업전략은 물론 국가의 연구개발정책에 있어서도 그 중요성이 더욱더 커진다고 할 수 있다. 본 교과는 이와 같은 신 기술경제 패러다임(New Techno-Economics Paradigm) 하에서 빠른 기술혁신과 불확실한 시장으로 정의될 수 있는 신기술 및 신제품의 수요를 분석하는데 필요한 기초적인 지식을 교육한다. 교과내용은 크게 2가지로 나누어지는데, 첫번째는 신기술의 개별속성에 대한 소비자의 선호구조를 분석하는데 필요한 다양한 이산선택모형(discrete choice model)과 이를 추정하는데 필요한 여러 가지 시뮬레이션 기법 및 베이지안적 접근에 의한 추정법이 포함되고, 두번째는 위험함수(hazard function)의 정의에 기반한 광범위한 형태의 확산모형(diffusion model)을 이용한 수요예측모형이 포함된다.”

English Overview

In recent environments that technologies and products are converged very actively and that demand for new products are getting more and more diverse, success of new technologies and new products tends to depend on performance in the market rather than that in research and development. Therefore, demand-side analysis and forecasting of demand for new technologies and products are becoming more and more important not only to business strategies but also to national R&D policies. This course will give basic but essential knowledge required to analyze demands of new technologies and products whose market can be described as rapid technology innovation and uncertain market in new techno-economics paradigm. Coverage of the course is separated into two parts. First part includes various discrete choice models for analyzing the structure of consumer preferences for individual attributes of new technologies, and various simulation techniques and Bayesian approach to estimate them. Second part includes demand forecasting model using various diffusion models which are based on hazard function.
